Save pubs, not pub companies. The best way to keep a pub a viable business is not to give all your profits away.

The best way to keep a pub viable is to actually make a profit - this usually involves the selling of coffee at a 600% mark up

London brewer and retailer Fuller’s will open a couple of stand-alone coffee shops, showcasing its own Brewer Street coffee brand, next to its pubs later this year.
The company will use property it already owns next to its existing pubs for the coffee shop developments.
Group managing director Simon Emeny told Propel: “These are high footfall sites where we have property adjacent to our pubs. We are really pleased with the course we took on coffee. The branded route wasn’t right for us – we decided we’d try to be different and have found a fantastic coffee blend.”
Fuller’s serves its Brewer Street brand in eye-catching crockery with a menu offering all the popular variants and indulgent snacks, such as “delicious chocolate brownie”.

I've just biked to the Holly Bush and back - out via Marston and Enson and returning via the short, sharp climb to the top of Sandon Bank with the excellent long descent to Hopton Garage. A hot chicken sandwich, two pints of Grolsch and a knickerbocker glory.

What summer is for.

Enjoying a drop of red.
I was 'forced' by a client to have lunch and a couple or three pints there this afternoon.

Sometimes I really hate my job. but this wasn't one of those occasions :D

The pizza oven out in the beer garden is going to be used!! i've been waiting to sample the results from that oven for quite a while.

Also, and i've always wanted to ask this, why is the main door into The Hollybush Inn so tired and crappy looking, i can picture a very nice porch-come-reception area entrance type thing attachted which is inkeeping with the building there, only small mind, keep the warm in in the winter months, has that idea ever come up?
Just curious, and i think it'd enhance the place ...even more if it's possible!

I love the place and it's been in my Power5 (top 5 places to go eat and drink in Stafford) for some years now, never fallen out of favour.
