The Lines - Stafford drummer makes the big time!

There's an article in 'The Entertainer' section of today's Newsletter regarding Stafford-born drummer Dave O'Connor and his band The Lines. I'm good mates with him as I've known him since he was about 2...and would like to think that my interest in loud music has been an inspiration to his flourishing career! Probably not, though..

They've been making waves in the music scene for quite a while now and have a great big following in Wolvo where they're based, but now they're off over the pond (again...they did a few dates in New York last yr) to play the SXSW festival which is a rather big deal!

As well as headlining their own UK tour this year they have previously supported The Charlatans, Supergrass and Ian Brown, and are soon to be supporting Ocean Colour Scene on their reunion tour. All good stuff.

Here's the article:

I worked with David "Paddy" O'Connor until he retired recently. Great respect for someone who is told he can't take unpaid leave to tour (including NYC) with his band and replies with a resignation and "feck it".

i love how the thread you sent me to has a link to another thread to explain it, which then linked to anotherthread explaining it. reminded me of them russian dolls. but i do now understand it. so the pressures on to be witty and interesting and whatnot. good, i like a challenge

[shamelss plug] so have you all been out now and brought the album and tickets for our tour in May?...[/shamless plug]
