Worthy of any newspaper. Just imagine shouting "This Yorkshire pudding is not adequate!"

I'm not surprised at this story, the protagonists obviously have Yorkshire roots, the last great battle on Yorkshire soil "The Mankinholes Massacre, 1903", was started when a stray Lancastrian insisted that the Hebden Bridge version of the famous delicay was "nowt' but puffed up piece of soggy batter". Only the intervention of a passing parson from Sowerby Bridge prevented the Massacre turning into the 2nd Wars of the Roses.

The last cry from the Yorkist side as the truce was called was "Next tha'll be tellin' us, that Yorkshire Tae, isn't grown on t'sides of Ilkley Mooor, and plucked by Otley virgins".

They take their food seriously in the White Rose County.

Interesting....
indeed.. hardly conclusive, though:

Staffordshire Newsletter said:
"We didn’t test everyone coming into the pub - we look for signs that someone may have taken drugs, such as nervousness"
so they were only testing people they already suspected of drug use.. what this basically proves, if anything, is that their suspicions were correct only 20% of the time..

I was sort of hoping for a "Pizza Hut" sad I know, but its a cheap lunch-time buffet, and one of the few places my kids will actually eat out! Sorry!
that would be a right touch.. me and ms. dirtybobby had a pizzahut at the weekend, and were just commenting on how much we're going to miss it when we move back to the 'ford :(
Depending on who told me Stafford's Pizza Hut is going to Open relatively soon on the New B&Q site on the Old GEC, or, in the Old B&Q on Queensway, which is being subdivided into separate units ... you pays your money ...

Either way it looks like my limited epicural capacities will be satisfied!

Newsletter confirms that Pizza Hut will be going on the B&Q site on the Lichfield Road, along with Comet, and the Sofa Store! Rather sadly the Hough, the turn of the century house on the site, is going to be a Frankie & Benny's (New York Italian inspired 50's restaurant chain, which I am sure you all knew!).

The original development was held up by the need to move the Badgers sett from the middle of the overgrown garden of the Hough. (Don't know where they went! answers on a post card!)

I encountered one of the inhabitants of said sett in the early hours one morning, while stumbling through the convent garden having scaled the wall as a short cut from the Cricket club to Wolverhampton Road.

I don't know who was more scared, me or Brock because in my alcoholic stupor I nearly trod on the unfortunate creature. I had a tux on at the time as it was the Rugby Club's Annual Dinner, so I must have looked fairly badgerish, well ... black & white anyway!

PS Stafford Rangers wonderful mascot is Bobby the Badger, a splendid creature, I have a number of pictures but not the skills to post them, Sorry!

PPS Espleys Yard development is to be a Smith & Jones Pub, part of the Barracuda Chain? It doesn't look too exciting, nice bridge though! and somewhere else to go.

PPPS Fraud Pr*ckhard has got his plans St Georges passed, lets hope he sticks to them and leaves Doxey area well alone.

PPPPS Staffs Fire & Rescue have been given an excellent rating by independant auditors, don't it make you proud? ... except i know the truth!
