The old St. George's

So, as stated in the B&M thread I decided to take a different route to town today. I live on Corporation Street so usually walk down Sandyford Street and past the prison but since I wanted to visit B&M I decided to cut through St. George's Parkway. wow, it was great.
I've always been intrigued by St. George's - I love architecture and old buildings and anyone who knows me will tell you I regularly tell people to 'Look up' when they are out and about. So many people go about their daily business and miss such amazing things because they don't notice stuff! Walk through the town centre and look above the shops and you will see what I mean!
I also have a thing about spooky buildings, I 'sense' things - ooooooh maybe I should be IN St. George's haha
So, anyway I've seen all the pictures of the decay and vandalism and original photos of how it used to be. It's just such a lovely building, but I've never been so close to it as I was today. Wow, it's even more impressive than I thought it was.
I've always been freaked out by the tower though so got good and close to it today - yeah it's spooky, just as I thought. Something bad definitely happened in that tower! Some of the houses are right next to it or overlook it, you'd have to pay me serious money to live there!
The work on St. George's mansions is coming along nicely - no work done on the spooky tower yet though - I wonder what it's going to be?
So, anyway it's a lovely development, there's a great play park and I never even knew there was a pond there!
