An advert has been placed in tonights Express & Star (page 42 ) for Manager & Staff, they are not giving away it's location. Does anybody know where it is?

The Surgery ...
Sure is. They're gonna be serving Pieminister pies which are great; whether there's enough folk in the 'Ford to sustain it is a different question.

Those grabbing a pastry-based product for lunch will still go to Greggs/Bakers' Oven/3 Cooks (not sure if they're all still there), and others going for lunch with colleagues/friends will prob want more choice than just pies. Why? I don't know this.

:pie:

I'm not going to resurrect the pie thread again ;)

my thoughts exactly, when you have a choice of pies, why confuse the issue with non pie based mains?

the last vendor for pieminister pies was the bear, but they quit those about 18mths back. On the subject of Greggs they have more outlets in the UK than Maccyds, and the curved glass covering the hot counter has a magnifying effect so no wonder the steak bakes etc are usually a big let down once handed over..........

It was originally due to open last weekend, however things have changed somewhat since then and I think they're waiting on something contractual to be resolved. They must be hoping this can be sorted before Christmas...

It's The Surgery/Palmers, as-was. Anyone know when it's due to open?
Or Noah's Ark, as it used to be. Apparently, Queen Elizabeth the First had a glass of wine in there. It's a shame that QE2 has just been, or she could have nipped in for a pie - do they do swan?

Walked past today, they've repainted the sign above the door and work was going on inside.

Blagged a bit of a freebie earlier, the gaff opens tomorrow, a nifty once over and i have to say it's looking pretty good. Indeed Pieminister are the suppliers so 10 out of 10 for a kick-off. 6 draught ales i saw Hobgoblin, a couple of Banks's, Marstons Empire amongst them. Also on the food side there is a selection of cooked hams and cooked meats gotta to be a 1st in Stafford. Upstairs is another bar area where you can also order food. Lots of nice big leather chesterfield sofas abound. I can see myself enjoying a Matador Pie and a pint sometime soon.........

I wonder if not naming it after a famous local poisoner will make it successful.
