Fab last supper! @ChrisLewis you would have been very proud of the team you have affectionately named 'the kids' tonight. They provided us with a warm welcome, stunning food and managed to keep a calm and professional face whilst dealing with a drunken group of young males, who were doing their best to wreak havoc. Messing up the gents, trying to cut the hair of one of the sleeping drunks, messing with fire extinguishers and for their departing gesture, urinating over a young waitresses car. The gallant male staff kindly went out and cleaned down the car for the poor girl.
Your staff quietly managed the drunks exit whilst showing such genuine concern for the elderly guest on the neighbouring table.
They spoke very highly of you as their boss, talked about how you knew all your staff by name, how you were hands on and an all round great boss.
Food was lovely. One of us had faggots the other had ham and duck terrine followed by slow cooked lamb and pheasant. I couldn't fault anything, husband would have liked more gravy, but he should have asked!
Staff were excited about the upcoming refurbishment and spoke about how important it was to retain a balance of pub and restaurant for locals and keeping the quirky buildings appearanc.
The menu was full of appetising and seasonal dishes. I can't wait to return.
