The "Search" facility

Does anyone else have trouble finding things through the search facility on here?

I am looking for a man with a van and I know that there is a thread on here somewhere.

So I searched for "Man with Van"

Nothing.
So I then searched for
A man with a van.
Man with a van
Man
Van

It says that my search cant be completed because the search words are either too short, too long or too common.

Any ideas?

The Search will only work with words from four letters and upwards, @Carole .

Try Googling "van stafford forum" or similar.

Also....sometimes if you include somebody that you remember commenting on the post that you are looking for - it will work well...

...I couldn't find 'Stafford Forum Catiquette ' the other day, but I did find it when I added @Withnail 'Stafford forum catiquette Withnail'...

Yes totally agree with that and i have done that before.

I couldnt remember who wanted a man with a van!

As search facilities go it's a bit poor. But baring in mind it's one of the few downsides of the platform this forum runs on, and we get to do all this chat on here for gratis then we can't really complain.

@Carole it was just a bit unfortunate that every word in your search was only three letters. But at least your experience has taught us all what to do

Yes it's happened to me a few times, I couldn't find whats for tea, thought I was going to starve.

I totally agree, I've mentioned it before, amongst others and got the response that perhaps I'm not using it properly, I mean c'mon!?
