I like watching the news in The Swan especially when they get the captions wrong.

It's a shame they don't have a permanent feed for Quahog news and Ollie Williams's Weather Report.....I'd watch that all day!

I would prefer anything other than the news, stick re-runs of One Man and His Dog for all I care, it's just that the news is so utterly depressing.

I don't class The Swan as being a place that would have a big screen behind the bar showing the news is all.

How would you feel if it was rolling sports news, Sky Sports News for example?
Actually, don't answer that, we're turning this thread into a news thread and as you may have gathered, I'm against any mainstream constructively construed news.

I LOVE THE SWAN!

Why is everything so negative over a TV screen in a bar? The next story on said new could be about a squirrel into water skiing!!? That would bring a smile to your face?

I won't attach a still, from what's usually on the news.

I've made a comment about something, so what?
Chris Lewis has replied and that's that.

I'm moving to L.A.

It's getting to be a bit of a 3 way, what with your little inclusions proac.

Can't you leave us alone, so we can build the love for one another in peace?

Swan.

Ate here last week, just a snack in the garden as it was sunny. The sandwich for the little un was spot on, but the chicken wings I had were far from it. Every wing had been smashed, no other word for it, I was picking fractured pieces of chicken bone from my teeth at every bite. Thought it may just be the odd one but all 5 tested were the same, had to send the rest back. The staff were excellent, offered to replace (no point as short of time by then) refund issued no questions asked and said they'd have a word with the chef about it. Shame as they were tasty, but it was worse than picking fish bones out.

Hi Tek-Monkey. Thank you for your feedback, smashed chicken wings are certainly not on the menu. I have forwarded your comments onto our head chef and i am sorry for slip in standard during this visit. I am pleased to see that our front of house team dealt with the issue quickly and effectively, but again i am sorry that the food was below standard on this occasion.

No problem. Your staff were professional as always, and I'm pretty sure I've never checked the bone consistency when making food myself so can't really blame the chef for not noticing - I'd have a word with your suppliers though as like I said it was every wing we tried in the bucket.

I sometimes have a Ploughman's at The Swan and recently they have replaced the pate which I don't like as much as the previous one. I wonder why they changed it.

Katniss - thanks for the feedback, looks like I'm going to be having a plough mans for lunch tomorrow, I'll check on why we might have changed our pate!

I'm a bit picky about my pate and I prefer it to be smooth which yours used to be, it now looks lumpy with a strange skin around it. I do realise it is just personal choice but I preferred the previous pate. When I went to The Dog and Doublet I was disappointed to find it was the same pate being served there.
