It should be a condition that one of the houses must have a dog on the roof.

At the risk of incurring the wrath of henryscat - whenever i pass the 'Welcome To' sign i simply cannot help taking at least one hand off the wheel and crying 'Ow' whilst rubbing my chest in the hope that someone will ask me what's the matter.

Whilst researching this event, which suggests that it is actually going to become an old folks' home, I came across a chap whose daughters used to snigger whenever they saw the Tittensor sign - he told them that is was actually twinned with the port of Brest, in France, but they had had to remove that from the sign - they believed him for years - and, perhaps, still do..

I have been unable to source a picture of the dog, Herbert, on the roof of the Winghouse.
