Spouting nonsense since the day I learned to talk
I have been subjected to two Sunday night shows this year. The ones with the chairs. What a load of bullshit it is. Nothing to do with finding talent, all to do with making money and apparent 'entertainment' - but we all knew that from the very first show of the very first series.

X-Factor feels like the real life incarnation of this....A Horrible slow murder with an extremely inefficient weapon

NB - Not, I repeat NOT SAFE FOR WORK

Worth watching Charlie Brooker's 15 Million Merits, if you can drag yourself away from the X-Tractor..

Oh dear. Where to start.

I'm still watching, although we sky plus and fast forward through most of it.

Are Olly Murs and Caroline Flack the worst presenters ever? Olly keeps fluffing his lines and appears to be very uncomfortable.

I am watching because at the moment I have 2 favorites....Louisa and Anton.

I was very surprised when Sean left on Sunday....I thought he would have been one of the last four.

i was suprised to see sean miley moore go he could really sing - am i being cynical when i think it was all staged to get more interest in him and make him a star anyway. bit like ryland big a presenter and celeb.

I agree that it's all staged. I don't atually believe anymore that the judges have any say in who to choose. The producers tell them who to vote for through the ear piece. Remember that time in another series when you saw a producer crawling on the floor and then whisper something in Loius's ear?

Also they give the ones they want to win a good song choice and the ones they want out, well they make them look ridiculous.

For example, Anton on Saturday night. He is a midde aged black man with a beautiful powerful soulful voice. What song do they give him?
Meghan Trainors "All about the bass". The lyrics are about a teenage girl being overweight. Why would they give that song to a middle aged man?

I think Olly is just embarrassed that he has to present the show with Caroline who is absolutely dreadful. Her dress sense is dire too and she definitely needs to come and see me for a bra fitting - her nipples are generally just above her tummy!
I couldn't believe it when Sean went, he had an amazing voice. As usual though the great British public judged on looks and couldn't see past a bloke in a dress. they don't like voting for people who don't conform to their idea of normality.

Just so long as we're blessed with a wonderful Christmas/New years number 1 chart topper, eh?!

X-factor would have been all worthwhile.

I have to disagrree about Ollie and Caroline. I am no fan of hers but I do think that she can present better than him. I do agree with you that she has dreadful dress sense.

Re Sean Miley Moore. Everyone I know thought he was amazing. I dont think people didnt vote for him because they cant see past a bloke in a dress.
I think people that liked him didnt bother to vote because they assumed he was safe.

I agree Carole. I haven't heard anything said about how he dresses at all, which is amazing but also shows how far the media have come to just embrace that recently.

There was an interesting article on The X Factor and game theory in The Guardian yesterday.

Apparently Anton has been leading the voting.

Oh dear.....

did anyone watch the results show?

Either Ollie cant add up, or he has no idea how the voting works, or he just lost track of it.......but that was just so awful to watch.

When he told Monica she was going home and then Caroline look horrified and said "No Ollie, she isnt, its going to deadlock"....and then Ollie apologised a million times.

He is so out of his depth on this show.

All over social media people are saying this proves the show is fixed and he knew the result before it should have been announced.
I disagree - I think it just shows he's actually a bit thick and couldn't add two plus two. Bless him - he's cute to look at but he's not the greatest presenter in the world.
My other favourite bit of the show was when One Direction were on and how uncomfortable Caroline and Harry Styles looked to be in the same room together after their well publicised failed romance.
Sad to see Monica go though.

That's what happens when you don't use professional presenters to do the job.

Ok, that''s me done now.

Over, finito, enough.

I gave it a shot and was half heartedly doing the fast forward thing ...but I actually realised tonight that I dont really care about any of them.

As for Simon.....he is fast becoming a total parody of himself.

There's nothing stand out is there. A read an article this week (may have been in The Guardian) that said a lot of it works in the studio, but doesn't come across on TV.

I detest Fourth Impact, and I'm not even sure why.

Can't stand 4th Impact either. They just around squealing. I like Louisa and Che - can't bear Lauren - she looks like a spiteful little minx. Can't see the point of Reggie and Bollie either - bringing their sons on touting for votes.
