Things you love about Stafford

It is all very easy to be negative about Stafford and focus on things we don't like and what we would change and that can sometime stops us from focussing on all the good things and all the things we love about Stafford... Here is my list feel free to add.

1. Brilliant selection of proper pubs. You will be hard pushed to find a similar sized town with as many fantastic pubs that we have, Slaters, floodgate, bird in hand, no 7 to name but a few....

2. Town Park, would love to see it extended into the land occupied by Peugeot and the water used behind the garage utilised, but despite that it is a lovely park.

3. The people, there is a lovely community spirit and togetherness in Stafford (broadly). Demonstrated abundantly by the 50k who marched against the downgrading of Stafford, and the fabulous turnouts being witnessed by Stafford litter heroes. Who by the way are doing a fantastic job of keeping Stafford tidy.

4. Stafford Rangers FC. A club that has had its issues in the past, but is now run in the right way and is a real jewel in Staffords crown. The club is well supported (but a few hundred more is welcomed) and is well received by visiting fans.

Enjoying a drop of red.
Two and soon to be three McDonalds.

Three Greggs.

The Guildhall.

The ambiance in the Newport Road/Bridge Street area on a Friday/Saturday night.

The beautifully smooth paving in Market Square.

Oh, sorry, I came over all Tilly/Marwood like for a moment. I'll sit down for a bit and post something useful and actually relevent a little later.

Internet lists
In the room the women come and go
Talking of Michelangelo.

And indeed there will be time
To wonder, “Do I dare?” and, “Do I dare?”
Time to turn back and descend the stair,
With a bald spot in the middle of my hair —

For I have known them all already, known them all:
Have known the evenings, mornings, afternoons,
I have measured out my life with coffee spoons;

And would it have been worth it, after all,
After the cups, the marmalade, the tea,
Among the porcelain, among some talk of you and me,

No! I am not Prince Hamlet, nor was meant to be;
Am an attendant lord, one that will do
To swell a progress, start a scene or two,
Advise the prince; no doubt, an easy tool,
Deferential, glad to be of use,
Politic, cautious, and meticulous;
Full of high sentence, but a bit obtuse;
At times, indeed, almost ridiculous—
Almost, at times, the Fool.

I went from my own front door to one of the most amazing places in the world last weekend.

Now i've been about a bit, and have seen some amazing things - i've hauled my arse to Machu Picchu, sailed down the Amazon, cycled through the spiny forests of Madagascar, and been humbled by the giant reclining Buddha of Polonnaruwa.

Of all the places i have been, Cannock Chase rates as high as any of them. And i can be there within 30 mins by foot, less by other means.

In this matter one feels truly blessed.

I love quite a lot of things that have already been mentioned, but I do like having the Gatehouse theatre and The Met on my doorstep.

I’ve seen some great shows, it’s fabulous to be able to see drama, music, opera, dance, comedy, and so much more.

I especially love the amount of people who do or are interested in sports in Stafford,

Just a walk around the market square reveals many many people in their tracksuits ready and raring to do sports.

It paints a picture of town as a health mecca.

I also like the Castle.

Not forgetting the olympic quality cyclists in their sponsored gear
