The Ford Squad presents a pre-xmas shindig back at The Bird in Hand with some more local band, acoustic and DJ action:

A.F.R.O.TATION
Trash Love Affair
HoneyMoon Fresh

Plus - Joseph Gravil, Michael James Butler & Beat Butchers DJ's...

A.F.R.O.TATION came to life in 2005 when UK based vocalist Charmaine Baines and German guitarist Marcus Halver joined forces.
A group extraordinaire was put together for their first concerts in Germany to perform at the international ZMF festival in 2006 and other selected venues. Striving to set up a working band in the UK, the core 2 played with many wonderful musicians who helped to create a unique sound - a sophisticated blend of Soul, Funk, Reggae, Jazz, Drum'n'Bass and other urban styles. A.F.R.O.TATION have gathered a reputation as a fascinating live act and performed at Birmingham Jazz Festival 2007, Staffordshire Castle Open Air and Tubingen Jazz&Klassiktage 2009.
Charmaine is an acclaimed singer-songwriter who has worked with a variety of producers, bands and DJs - more about her at http://charmainebaines.co.uk/ and her own myspace profile. Marcus works as a band leader, arranger and session musician. Both have performed with MatrixClubmix, The Big Silver Fish and Roy G Hemmings in the UK and appeared at festivals throughout Europe.

Trash Love Affair formed from the ashes of various bands, projects and apathetic attiudes and the basic desire to get out of the house and play live rock n' roll. The members collectively hauled their sorry asses off the floor and away from a diet of Big Brother, I'm a Celebrity..., Shipwrecked and Wife Swap, magazines such as Heat, Hello, OK! and a whole of lot of pornography to form a band. The discovery of Channel 4 On Demand nearly loved the whole thing up...but it didn't.

Honeymoon Fresh is the brainchild of Andrew C Salt. Andrew had recorded some songs at home which didn't really fit into his solo idiom, so he enlisted the help of college compadres Dan Ross, Loz Wells & Scott Devall. They started playing stripped down versions of his songs (listen to 'Nothing (version)'), using many of the childrens toys Andrew had used in his recordings; and after much public interest in and around their hometowns, they recruited drummer Ed Cracknell and are now performing the songs as originally intended.

Plus the inventive and talented Joseph Gravil playing in the acoustic area along with Michael James Butler an up and coming acoustic talent from Birmingham along with Beat Butcher's Dj's spinning hip-hop/house/funk until 2am...
