Terry Pratchett's Discworld books featured an incompetent but cheerful character called B S Johnson.
According to "The Discworld Companion" (Pratchett & Briggs): "Johnson was never a man to let inexperience or incompetence in any field stand in his way, and with his godlike ineptitude often achieved effects a genius might find hard. Strangely enough, Johnson's renowned lack of aptitude brought him considerable fame and quite a few commissions."

It was at the Toy Fair at the Showground. For some inexplicable reason, it had come into my head on the drive up there. I last saw mine in 1971 and thought "I wonder if I'll ever see another one again?"

Slightly spooked by the sudden appearance, I went past it a few times before I dared to look inside. Originally, they were powered by a clockwork motor, wound by means of a key applied via the funnel - but, I converted mine to electric propulsion. Eventually, I opened it up, hoping to find that it still had the clockwork mechanism and was not 'my' ship stalking me, but it was empty. There was no sign of what could have been my conversion, but equally no definitive proof that it wasn't 'my ship'...

I have a vague recollection of renaming mine, as the transfers suffered from regular immersions.

That the entrance to the lorry park on the Doxey Road is completely blocked off. And I might be wrong, but I'm sure another is not included in the plans for the Western relief road?

I noticed that last night.

I thought that that's where part of the new road comes out... isn't it going to be on stilts there?

Could just be blocked off cos its flooded again though..

It had been partially blocked on Wednesday, but a couple of lorries were parked up. Got home yesterday and it was blocked completely. Not flooded enough to stop a lorry going down.
I swear 20+ lorries rocked up last night, had go back the way they came.

It's all boarded up today along the length of the lorry access, so guess it is for the new access Rd.
