He's a lovely person, probably I also have no idea who he is & chat to him like a 'normal' person.... I've had to be 'told' several times..

Are you saying madmen can't be lovely?

He's an old Etonian, probably the only lovely one not extinct

Has he not been seen in the Coop on the Stone Road? That's the first sign of madness, not being seen in the Coop on the Stone Road.

The second sign is guarding the pedestrian crossing armed only with a can of Tennants Super and somebody elses bicycle

I didn't get where I am today by guarding a can of Etonians with a Coop bicycle

Blue Plaque?

About roughly 4hrs ago, i saw around 14 army lorries heading toward eccleshall accompanied by 6 ish police cars. The lorries were loaded with sumat, 1 or 2 seemed to have what looked like rockets attached to them
This could be a QRF event taking place at Swynnerton.

I used to be in the army and we, alongside the emergency services and local journalists, would take part in a staged major disaster events in order to practice for a real event. These events often had police escorts & road blocks etc in order to make the event as real as it could be.

When I was i part of the QRF - quick reaction force - the events took place in the early hours of the morning in order not to disturb or inconvenience the locals.

In terms of the rockets, I'm not sure what that could be. I used to be in the air defence and we had missiles, later in my career we had a light gun, which is a big gun that you tow with a lorry.
In my younger (single) days I met some scottish army lads in the Grapes. They were here for a few weeks doing a neuclear attack training exercise somewhere by Eccleshall. I joked that they could let me into their bunker if there was attack......they replied that their strict instructions were to shoot any civilian survivors approaching their bunkers :o

The thought of having to retreat to a nuclear bunker in Eccleshall !!!

I think I'm with Corporal Hicks on that one: "I say we take off, nuke the site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure." :heyhey:

Yarnfield way?Must check a few records, doesn't really ring any bells at the moment.
Somewhere that direction....they didn't really know (or weren't allowed to say?) exactly where they were. I didn't even know there was a training camp up there at the time ! Must have been sometime around 1974 - 1976 ( maybe slightly earlier if I was in there with them drinking underage;) )
