Walking around the lake this morning I saw Colin the Cormorant showing off on a buoy. Bitterly cold, but clear blue skies and not a breath of wind. All wind turbines stopped except the big one (I can see the blades of this from my back window in winter when the intervening trees are de-leafed. That thing would turn if a gnat farted.)
Picture a bit blurry as Colin had chosen the most distant buoy, and although my little camera has quite a good built in optical telephoto lens, I had to put it at max and no tripod, so the Monday morning shakes made it difficult to stay on target.

I don't normally shop at that time and also on a Sunday but was quite surprised at how busy it was.

In Ireland, Lidl* has "autism hours" on a Tuesday evening, where everything is kept deliberately quiet and peaceful.

    6-8pm on a Tuesday.

Here, we have "masochism hours" on a Sunday afternoon...

*They seem to do it in Northern Ireland as well, but maybe not on the Big Island yet.

Just took this after the Sun went down. Venus very bright in the southwest. This is just with a point and click camera and no processing. The arse is falling off the thermometer and the barometer is hard over to HIGH.

It took me a few second to realise what I was looking at.

I like the awful old technology of the bi-folding door melded with the super hi-tech design from some f*cker who couldn't design a simple thing like a sink if their life depended on it.
Just my opinion of course … it's like seeing a crocodile in a Barbie Doll factory. :teef:

THE Real Brexit Party in the Snug in the Bird.

Sad thing is I don’t think any of them will be around if any benefit of leaving is ever realised!!!

But at least they were having a good time quaffing ye olde English ale and Yorkshire wine, eh?

To be honest my initial idealism has given way to deep cynicism in recent decades, but occasionally I see something that reminds that there just might be a bit of light hidden deep down in the black cracks. (It doesn't last mind … )

Although, I heard it first and would have missed it otherwise.
