Traffic lights out - ASDA island - Sat 10th Dec 2011

All the lights at asda island out, traffic proceeding normally and no hold ups !

I noticed that when i passed at lunchtime today - there wasnt even a queue or straddler! heaven

I called the council to let them know... And to tell them traffic is better than normal!

I'm sure there's a period of time where they make a difference. But it's the 20 hours in the day when they make things worse that is annoying.

Theres too many in stafford - asda island being one - the island by tk max being another! There was a lot of traffic on the roads when i came through at 1pm yesterday and the only place that was free rolling was the asda island! Just proves the amount of traffic lights in stafford jam it up!

When the Lloyds Bank/Riverway lights were out one day the traffic was flowing much better with not a queue in sight, despite the heavy volume of traffic at the time that I walked past!

Ah, Swindon's Magic Roundabout, it's been there nearly forty years now. I remember my first venture across it, around '76, my brother lived near it and said "Just give way to the right - and hope everybody else does the same.."

Imagine how many lights we would have on that if it was here..

Ah, who remembers the time, not all that long ago, when the asda island had no lights on it... in fact if you want to be nostalgic just go to google street view, 'drive' towards the island on the lammascote road and watch them magically appear and disappear as you 'drive' round it!
