Enjoying a drop of red.
As if one major road into/out of Stafford being dug up isn't enough at a time at a time when we hope to attract a larger than usual number of visitors to our town.

Once more the County Council demonstrate Olympic standard fcukwittery.

Beaconside temporary lights aren't there at the moment.

Beaconside works have been programmed for this time, but the Weston Road works look a bit more off-the-cuff.

Why can't temporary lights have a sensible schedule like the ones they are replacing. Five minutes in each direction is unacceptable!

Single-line in each direction will cause difficulties and fewer dead-times during changeovers will increase the general throughput, I suppose..

Having said that, the schedule of the permanent lights there is not the most sensible....

I'm not sure what the Beaconside works are about. I rather assumed that it would be another set of lights where the B5066 heads off to Sandon, as the queues there in the morning are getting a bit excessive, but that doesn't seem to be the case...

Tbf, as was alluded to in the other thread, works while the schools are off makes much sense. It is extraordinarily noticeable how much freer are the roads outside of term time.

People may have noticed some single-lane chaos where the A34 reaches Gaol Square, also - this has been backing-up to the point where idiots have been blocking the Halfords lights....
