Floods receeding, Wolverhampton Road busy but moving, time your journey; ie, avoid the rush hours.

You're not kidding! Sofa's 3rd photo shows the road into Sainsbury's, and the water actually went further behind the camera all the way to the roundabout on Doxey Road...creeping towards our doorsteps! At least my lodger managed to get a bit of canoeing in on Tuesday night!

Yeah I think it was even at the flood's highest point. It was great for us, cos the place was empty! I get severe Sainsbury's rage, so there's a kind of silver lining..

great - the BBC and the Met office has issued a SEVER FLOOD WARNING for the north this weekend..

The BBC consider a SEVERE FLOOD WARNING to mean:

This is the warning issued when serious flooding is expected and there is imminent danger to life and property. If your warning is upgraded to this you should be prepared for your gas, electricity, water, and telephone supplies being lost, you're advised to keep calm and reassure others, and co-operate with the emergency services.

Without wanting to induce panic, we are gearing up for a severe weekend in Staffordshire. I am sure there is an element of not wanting to be caught with our pants down, but contingencies are being put in place for more floods.

Stop indoors and watch wimbledon this weekend..........Doh!

thats why im catching up with the forum now and abusing my full tv viewing today as much as i can.

it has nothing to do with the fact i rolled in at 3am this morning, drunk as a skunk, fell asleep on the sofa and quite simply cant be arsed to wash or do anything constructive....although i have got to go to work tonight- boooo!

Blimey, I leave the Town for a week and look what happens.

Glad to hear everyone is ok, especially the northern bunnies, looked bad on the news. And glad I missed it!
