    Hi All

Starting on the 4th September, every Tuesday we will be running a craft and vintage market at Oddfellows Hall. We have handmade soaps and gifts, bespoke and hand created jewellery, vintage furniture and small items, books, jams and gift hampers, handmade cards, craft supplies and more. A small selection of refreshments will also be available.

Please support us, even if you can't come and see us by maybe spreading the word? I'd really appreciate it and I know how far you all reach out over the Stafford area :)

    Hi
What time will you be opening and closing?
Also if one wanted to do a stall how much does it cost?

Yes Withnail thanks for that :)

Hothouse Flower, if you are interested you can always text or call us...I sometimes don't get on here for a while. You'd need to get in touch pretty soon though as it's only a week away and we're virtually full ;) I'll message you my number too as the one on the leaflet is playing up a bit at the moment (hence my message in the Virgin thread lol)

Well, I popped in to have a quick look round, and a good variety of stuff is on offer. Lots of cards, and other crafty things. There was even a stall in the corner with some old tools on, including a sleeve-fitting tool just like this:-

..although, they are generally known by another, rather less formal, name...

I spotted you - on your surveillance detail...

Ask him what the unofficial name is for that implement. His stall was unattended when I was there..

Surveillance detail?? I'll ask him when he comes round tomorrow - if he knows. Sorry it was unattended when you visited, he spent a good portion of the day passing out leaflets and generally pointing out where we were and trying to get people to come see us.

I take it you were the spook with the camera.

I'm sorry to hear that he's unconscious.

As I left there were people in the foyer discussing how to make it more obvious that there was a need to progress up the stairs to see everything else - I suspect JJJ was one of those involved..

Aah I see! Will have to scrutinise my photos - which are being uploaded to our facebook page as we speak.

Well....it's been a long day - I wouldn't be surprised if he really IS unconscious :P

Sorry Gramaisc he didn't know, though he'd hazard a guess at 'three pronged sleevulator' lol :p

The proper name is 'sleeve-fitting tool' - but nobody ever actually called them that. The more popular name was rather more picturesque..

That one looks like an old Hellermann device. Much used by wiremen.

You pop a little rubber sleeve over the three prongs, squeeze the handle and this move the three prongs apart, thus stretching the sleeve out into a triangular shape so that you can slip it over a cable and then release the tension, sliding the prongs out, leaving the ring tight on the cable. You can see the gist of it in this picture of a more modern example.

Yes, just at the end of Tipping Street.

The entrance is through the arch in the centre of the picture - you can just see 'Oddfellows' in the black area at the top..
