Good heavens above! What a fab price that was eh.....hahahahahaha! I was only 7yrs old then.
To put that into context, three quid was about eleven or twelve pints back then - so around thirty-five to forty quid now..

No problem - I will PM you an invoice.

You can edit quotes, as well - as you can see above.

Not at all! Sometimes it's easy for us "Netizens" to forget that not everyone has used an Internet forum before, so we forget to explain the basics. If you have any questions, make sure you ask them!

Gramaisc is the forum guardian angel and the only reason that (some) of my posts make any sense at all. Indeed, thanks to a Gramaisc tutorial, I can also play with fripperies such as this -

i hate touts, what have you actually done that warrants you making more from the sale of that ticket than any of the acts performing?

I don't think Katie's a tout. She was looking to get rid of a ticket for what sounds like a genuine reason and she wasn't asking for a fortune. Surely the bands playing there would be making more than £60?
I've been on both sides of the ticket resale issue. I have one particular band that I really like to see live. Last time they toured, I initially couldn't get the seats that I wanted, so I got standing tickets just in case. When I subsequently got the seats I wanted, I offered the standing tickets for sale at face value on a fans' site. By then the gig was sold out and I could have got a lot more on an auction site but I wanted them to go to someone as daft as me about the band. On the other hand, a few years ago, when the same band played and I failed to get tickets I was really happy to be able to get a ticket on the resale market and perfectly prepared to pay more than the face value. I had a brilliant night, it was worth every penny and I certainly didn't begrudge the seller. Presumably in that instance, the band and promoters had got the amount of money they had set to make a profit. The fact that the re-seller made money on top of that shouldn't really cause them to lose any sleep.
On the other hand, I completely agree with you about actual touts, who buy huge numbers of tickets as soon as they come on sale, prevent the rest of us from having a fighting-chance of getting affordable tickets and then drive up the price. The venues are complicit in that, though.

whether you intentionally buy tickets for resale, or have to sell the tickets on for genuine reasons, if you sell them at above the price that you paid for them you are a tout in my eyes. If i ever have spares for whatever reason i make sure they go to a genuine fan at the correct price

and to give you an idea of how much a band will make from festivals, the absoloute most ever paid to a band was 1.5 mil for the reading and leeds festivals (which have a combined capacity of 162,000. this works out at less than a tenner a ticket, so considerably less than katie's made

whilst that wasn't my source, yes, that was the band i meant. it is likely that some bands at V are performing for nothing (or next to nothing) as well, so don't go thinking all bands get paid ridiculous amounts
