I feel compelled to write about this subject. The subject is Vanity Lair a new series which has started in E4 on a sunday.
This programme was a phenomenon of the highest proportions; by taking all the shallowest, self-indulgent, vain, narcissistic, selfish, self-absorbed tripe out of every reality programme ever made, and putting it all in a cauldron and stirring with a big wooden spoon, the makers of this programme and the people within it are treading a new path of sheer insanity.
If this were a Chris Morris series like Jam, I would laugh continuously whilst watching it. Instead the first laugh came when some chump was rated: "OH MY GOD, like only 54% on the mathematical beauty of his face!".
His reaction to discovering that he wasn't perfect in everyway was to involuntary vomit into his hands and onto the table in front of his 'peers', and cry his little heart out. At this moment it all made sense, and I too underwent involuntary bodily reactions - Hysteria.
What an incredible reaction (the vomit that is-seriously on for psychologists to take a peep at). The rest of the show actually became amusing in a highly perverse way after this, though I doubt i will be going out my way to watch it.
The same goon who was scarred for life by the number 54, also came out with the gem,
"I'd rather lose my legs than my hair, at least I could have wheels and still get around."
I shit you not.
