I have a belt drive turntable, Revolver 'the turntable' turntable, my drive belt is the original one but still working OK. Although I may have just jinxed it.

I always liked the retro-futurist look of the Amstrad.

It's like a museum where you can buy the exhibits.

Indeed. I love vintage proper quality products as opposed to the cheap mass produced crap made nowadays in China. I get a little warm glow when something I get from Katherine House is 'Made in England' and top quality to boot :). Had some real quality vintage bargans from there recently.

decided to go with the teac in the OP after all, and very chuffed i am with it too:

    Teac LP P1000.JPG

i got it brand new off ebay for £199, but had a £10 voucher at the time so it ended up being only £189 - brand new, boxed with warranty etc.. most pleased :D

the little speakers sit either side of the TV very neatly, and there are loads of input options so i've even hooked it up to the TV for a bit of extra audio oomph when watching films :)

the bluetooth is a nice touch - mrs. db has been using it to play baby songs for little miss db via spotify from her iphone.. it really is a lovely bit of kit
