Mine's not working properly in Littleworth/Corporation Street area at the moment. It works for a few seconds at a time, really fast, but then it goes real slow and then stops working again for another 10 minutes or so. VM's status page says they are aware of a broadband fault and "engineers are on their way". ETA 12pm Friday.
I am now coming to you by way of Orange 3G internet with my PC tethered to my phone... at least that's working. Orange/T-Mobile issues mean that I cannot talk or text if I'm on the T-mobile network.

Get the engineer to check the wiring inside and out. Someone I know had VM back lots of times until they checked the wiring and found it hadn't been connected properly.

Lost the connection again straight after my last post for about 5 hours until a few minutes ago.

Engineer fiddled with the connection inside the box on my outside wall and the ones coming into the house by my computer when he came on Monday. Just said "Yes,I can see it's an intermittent connection, but can't see anything wrong in your box connections" .

Wow-got my discount on my account for all the lost time over the last month....a massive £1.80 !

Seemed to have had problems ever since our neighbour had virgin installed. Worked OK for years before that. But Virgin insist it has nothing to do with that.

Engineer been.Getting hardly any top-end signal through so when anyone else using it nearby it's too weak for us to function.

Got to have new cable laid from top end of the street to our house and could be weeks depending on their schedule,so may be a bit quiet from me for a bit folks........

Mine has been down since Monday but will VERY intermittently work (reboot and reboot the page and eventually sometimes it will load) and seems to work for about 5 minutes after I reboot my laptop so I'm not sure if it's to do with the hub or not. But turning the wifi off and on on my phone doesn't work - it just continues to not load. Pinging google's IP doesn't get anything back at all.

There was a reported fault with Tivo last night but the broadband was meant to be fine. I'll be giving them a call this evening.
I'll give them a call tonight.

Mine was working intermittently and we had several new hubs before they realised we needed a new cable.

Virgin Engineers turned up out of the blue the other night at 5pm and announced they had come to lay my new cable. No phone call or anything (if they sent a letter it's probably ended up with all my other missing mail). Good job I was at home when they came !
They did the preparation work up the road and then another team came over an hour later, dug up the garden in the dark and laid a thicker cable than the previous one.

Bloke said that they are now fitting the thicker, more powerful cables than when mine was done back in 2007 because with all these Tivo boxes,HD etc the old ones aren't coping.

Been working OK ever since :)
