It's the new/been there a while now Italian on Greyfriars.

We went for the first time today and had a very splendid meal for very good value prices I think. £15 per head for a main meal, salad, garlic bread, dessert and drinks (non alcoholic). Its the kind of place I drive past all the time and keep meaning to try, but never quite make it.

Anyways, they are now open at lunch time and are offereing a kids eat free deal (don't know all the details) but I thoroughly enjoyed our meal, so will be going back!

I hope they get enough trade to survive as Stafford has a dearth of decent eating places IMO.

Thanks. I did see that, but only 1 (negative) review since April 09 so thought the place would of had chance to sort any teething probs out by now. perhaps more recent visitors had different opinions than those who visited in the early days?

Very very good value for money, open kitchen, good service by a young chick still learning.......

Menus are here

Lunchtimes are quite a bit cheaper than evenings, and the choice seems to be exactly the same.

I've not been yet, but keep meaning to - looks good!

Funnily enough I have been debating the idea of curried pasta for some time. The chilli lasagne works brilliantly, but never been too sure if curry would go.

We went a month or so back and the food was lovely. They also do a pizza/pasta dish for £5 deal most nights of the week so a bargain (same size portions as normal).

Indeed, if they were in the centre of town they would do very very well......

I would have thought that their positioning might not be too bad - seen by lots of passing traffic, reasonable parking in the evenings, not too rowdy an area these days, perhaps a better rent situation than the High Street, etc....

Been 5 times since they opened, always been top scram, in a lovely friendly atmosphere! Top marks from the seed's and friends. Not many veggie choices, but it serves us right for being fussy, and anyway, it's always been so good, had no problems in havin' same again! :slayer:
