And vegans and vegetarians are more than welcome to eat meat dishes, oh no that doesn't work does it?
I think herein lies the issue. Not eating meat is a lifestyle choice, it's not like an allergy. Not that you have to cater to allergies, nobody is forced to make a gluten free pizza base for example. The retailer makes a conscious choice, is stocking the extra ingredients worth it?

Do meat eaters go into Vegan Restaurant's & ask for meals with animal products in? :?:

I wouldn't go in to steak house and expect a vegan meal, that would be foolish, as would expecting a vegan restaurant that has an ethical aversion to the pain and suffering inflicted on animals raised for meat and dairy to serve products produced in a cruel way.

My issue is that they told vegans to ask but then could offer nothing. When we chose something off the menu but with only half the ingredients they charged full price. We aren't going again . That s my review and my opinion.

If I were a vegan I think I would of checked the menu first to see if they had any meals that I would be able to eat, maybe even phoned before making a booking to check that those meals would be available on the night, & not bothered going if my requirements couldnt be met.

I agree that its annoying & not really fair that half of your ingrediants were missing & you still had to pay full price, but checking before booking would of saved all the angst.

But did you get half the portion size or did they supplement the non vegan ingredients with more of the others?

I would expect there to be a vegan option. It's a bit hard on the vegan if their family decided to go to a steak restaurant for a celebratory dinner and they couldn't have something that could be called a meal. A bit hard on the family too if they have to choose another restaurant.

I like Thai food but they don't serve it in steakhouses so I don't really understand why you would expect a restaurant to cater for vegan food if it's not their main speciality.

It would be nice to cater for everyone's tastes/choices but I can understand that not everyone can be pleased all of the time.

We didn't book! We just wandered in while walking home. Had we been looking to book then clearly we'd have had the conversation about vegan options!

*Regret leaving a review at all now!! I thought the whole point was to post my experience, not to have to justify being a vegan lol

Beacuse it said on the menu to ask........and then they had nothing! They should have just said "We do not serve vegan food", I can get on board with that.

I wouldn't expect Thai restaurants to do steaks (but it would be nice if they did) and I wouldn't expect steakhouses to do Thai dishes (but it would be nice if they did) .... but I would expect both to offer vegan options.

Here's a thought .... I wonder if steakhouses in Thailand offer a Thai option in the same way that Indian restaurants in this country offer an English option.
