Why did they feel it necessary to restrict parking to the weston road shops!! I think the entire weston road was coned off with silly little parking wardens spaced out ready to pounce!!! and that was at 3.30pm!!! Yet another bright spark trying to show hes worth his weight in taxpayers money, whilst making a hash of the traffic system! Only in Stafford
Tesco petrol station is passed, quick get in or out while you can
And thats all folks, back on the road again, da dad daaa dad adadad
Great to see so many happy folk out to cheer the torch bearers on, thanks to all involved in making the event go so well.
The guy was hardly putting in any effort heading past the train station!
Lol Tek, same where we were opposite Couture. Made getting photos easier though I guess!
Didn't our town just look fantastic today, well done to all who supported the Olympic Flame on its passage through the borough.
Stafford certainly looked at its best today.

It was fabulous. Tweeted a lot throughout the day (@LizzumsBB) and took quite a few pictures.
Got to say today made bein a staffordian great. 10s of thousands of cheering peeps lining the streets, police in a great celebratory mood and so many smiling faces. I don't care what all the nah sayers say today was a great day for the town.
Was it like 1972 when Rangers won at Wembley?
No burgers or cola then, just Bovril and mint flavoured Aztec bars
It really was something to behold - the town centre was absolutely rammed.
Are 'nah' sayers slightly less 'committed' than 'nay' sayers?
Haha! Yes, yes they are!
a few pictures here
Were any of the torch bearers actually from Stafford?
I really can't see what all the fuss is about someone jogging through town with a torch!
Did you know it was Hitler who introduced the torch idea for the 1936 olympics in Berlin?
During my excursion into the countryside yesterday, I came across a chap undergoing some equestrian training - I am fully confident that the horse was a neigh-sayer..
Some were, yes.
You missed the point entirely Withnail, that been he was going nowhere near Stafford. lol
Oh and turns out he hadn't even read the sign properly as when he came he informed me it was possibly closing for road works (the Roundabout up by the industrial park and hotel just up from Stone), nothing to do with any of this, hence when he was on his way here he saw them getting ready to close it at 9:30am.... The point been it had NOTHING to do with the Olympic torch, he'd just put 2 and 2 together and come up with 19.
Worst traffic he hit was heading into Birmingham from here.
