STAFFORD TENANTS AND RESIDENTS BOROUGH PARTNERSHIP (www.StarStafford.org.uk) is a group of people within the Stafford Borough who want to try to give the tenants and residents in the borough a voice.

The group were originally the Stafford Borough Council Tenant’s Federation. The Federation was a strong and well supported group, Borough Council assisted and guided the group and the federation had been active for 13 years. The aim of the Tenant’s Federation was to be the voice of tenants and stand up for the rights of Borough Council Tenants; after the council transferred its housing stock in 2006 the group became Stafford and Rural Homes tenant and resident’s federation. Throughout the following years the federation members sat on Stafford and Rural Homes various committees and panels and were influential in decision making and shaping the services for Stafford and Rural Homes tenants.
Now after a change in structure in housing associations SRH have a customer board. The new Customer Board plays a key role, providing customers with the opportunity to look at services and the way that they are delivered so that any improvements required can be made.
The Federation therefore became redundant in their role to work with SRH to shape and influence services – so now the group wants to find a new way forward to be the voice of tenants and residents within the borough. Our aim is to try to help, assist and guide tenants and residents to deal with issues relating to housing and local authority services.
