Completed watching the first TV series of 'Fargo.' This is Coen World alright, although they only produce it. The cast is amazing but hats off in particular to Allison Tolman (the only smart cop in the small town station after the first episode,) Keith Carradine, Martin Freeman (you'd never guess he's a Brit,) Bob Odenkirk (Better Call Saul) and of course Billy Bob Thornton as Lorne Malvo. Not a man you want to meet in a dark alley ... in fact not a man you want to be on the same continent with. A true predator.
It is very dark, and the violence is short, sharp and right in your face ! The story threads twist and turn around each other all strung together by co-incidence .. like I said. Coen World.
I started watching series 2 which seemed completely separate from series 1, then you realise it isn't. It's just separated by 20 plus years.

We continue to trawl through Amazon's film offerings as apparently he doesn't have time to watch a series...

Tonight we watched On a Clear Day. I may have something in my eye...

    Others of note:
    Pride
    Into the Wild
    The Founders
    Late Night
    Oranges and Sunshine
    How to Build a Girl
    Lad: A Yorkshire Story

I’ve not been watching TV much this summer, we’ve been sitting in the garden chatting or reading.

However I did stay up until 2.00am last night after watching all six episodes of “The Secrets She Keeps”.

I loved all the twists and turns and well.....the secrets.

It was great to see Laura Carmichael in a totally different role from her Downton Abbey persona.

Lockdown has been fruitful where television is concerned.

    Stranger Things
    Tiger King
    Russian Doll
What We Do In The Shadows
    The Night Of
    Dr Foster

    all were excellent.

They're showing 'The Bridge' again on BBC4. Might just watch it again if only for Saga Noren. (Mad as a box of frogs.) :heyhey:

    Was it?
I've started to watch The Marvellous Mrs Maisel. He refused to watch any after the first episode, but I'm expecting good things.

It was an ok easy watch.

Daniel Craig with a American accent does not sit well.

I'm not watching it now, but I'm really excited about the return of 'Whitehouse & Mortimer, Gone Fishing'...

Strangely, the carer received an email (as somehow he has dealings, with someone to do with it).... Telling him the new series starts on Sunday 23rd August, BBC2.

I absolutely love this program, despite having no interest in fishing at all. Can't wait!

I watched it on the BEEB a few months back. They actually do one episode on Tamar Lake which I know well .. (and I'm definitely no fisherman.)
