    The South American National anthems were 'influenced' by the Marseillaise.

    Because it is a kick-ass anthem.

    Our dreary dirge has 'influenced' no other Nation anywhere, ever, at any time.

    Because it is shit.

    One has often wondered whether ours has actually had a detrimental effect on the poor saps who've endured it, so soporific is it in its largo listlessness

    I've always liked anything that has a brontosaurus in it. I remember buying this record from Harold E. Parkes in 19♫ (the actual date has been drowned out by the music … cough.)

    I think this is my favourite Bob Dylan song. He wrote this as part of the soundtrack he did for 'Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid.' Specifically written for this scene where Slim Pickens staggers off toward the lake after being fatally shot. Music and film just about a perfect fit....
