Centuries of lovely entitlement, privilege and deference. We have a small chance of starting to move a little bit away from that on Thursday. But I suspect we'll lose our nerve and vote for the same old brew of patronising, self-assured county squires, the self-satisfied fortunate and their undeserving families and the viciously self-interested.
I may emigrate to Borgen.

Less of that sort of talk - they've served us well over the centuries and I don't want the arrival of the Royal baby to be disturbed in any way.

Has Kate had to go to Stoke?

I managed to get an old Kärcher 411 pressure going again. All that was wrong with it was that the switch had stuck in the 'off' position - the spring wasn't enough to push it into the 'on' position. All it needed was a squirt, but it was totally obstructed by the casing - and the casing was secured by Torx-headed self-tappers, for God's sake - the T10 size. As if that wasn't enough pointless obstruction, one of the screws turned out to be a T11 with a centre pip, just to be even more awkward. I eventually got them all out and got a squirt into the switch - all is re-assembled and working again now.

Up yours, Herr Kärcher.

View from the cabin kitchen next morning gives an Idea of how off the beaten track we are.
