What is the best pub in Stafford....

We moved to Stafford a couple of months ago & have been trying out the various 'hostelries' in the town over the last few weeks. Me & the wife have our opinions, just interested in other folks views on which pub is the best?.

Depends what you like to drink and where you live - support your local as best you can -
We love The Sun in town (lovely real ale - Titanic)
Our local Staffordshire Bull in Parkside is a great pub now, recently taken over x

To be honest we have not found a bad one yet, just some we have enjoyed more than others. Definitely like The Sun & Ye Old Rose & Crown.

With over 40 to choose from it does depend on what you like, quiet pub or rock music, darts or folk music, food or good craic plenty of choice for all

My favourites in Stafford are as follows - 1) floodgate & no.7 (joint favourites) 2) Rose and Crown 3) The Sun 4) The Swan 5) Market Vaults (best burgers and pint combo) 6) Shewsbury Arms 7) Greyhound (great pub but a little too far for me to walk to hence I rarely go there unless on route to Stafford Rangers).

Prior to the Shrewsbury arms opening I expected them to be higher in my standings. However I've been disappointed by the staff / customer service when I've been in there.

It very much depends on what mood I'm in, but I don't know of a pub I wouldn't go into / wouldn't be happy to have a pint in. We're lucky to live somewhere with such variety of drinking establishments.
