Can you grab someone with an iphone with the shazam app on it to find out what it is the next time you hear it? I am always doing that (with my iphone)

There was a song I kept hearing on radio 1 recently I which I really liked but I can't remember who it was by and what it was called. It was kind of dance music and when it got to the chorus the pace would change. I can hear it perfectly in my head but I don't think I would even be able to hum it. It didn't have any distinguishable lyrics either (at least not in the bit i can remember) and it's not on their playlist. Always gutting when that happens!
it's weird that you kept hearing it (i.e. it wasn't just a one-off) yet it didn't appear on any of the playlists.. not even the c-lists, or "new tracks" or anything?

the way you describe it, it sounds like one of these new-fangled "dubstep" tunes - they very often have sections that seem very slow and loping, then switch to sections that can be much more upbeat.. there are a fair few people on here who like such shenanigans, so might be able to help.. when did you hear this tune? are we talking weeks ago, or months? or is it still on now and again these days?

my first thoughts are Katy B - Katy On A Mission or Magnetic Man - I Need Air, but to be honest they don't switch up much so i'm most likely wrong..

The only other modern track I can think of with a female singer and whistling is by Bat for Lashes.

It appears that you are not the only one in search of the elusive track.

Thanks, its not any of those, it's def more indie, I've not heard it for two days and have now checked pretty much every source I could google and the ones provided above.

I'm sure I'll find out eventually.

The last time this happened was when I heard a Black Rebel Motorcycle track on the radio some years ago and it took several years to discover it.

I once heard a song that I'd heard somewhere before and it took nearly twenty years to find out what it was. But I did in the end and shall die happy.

I once read a story about a song someone had heard somewhere before and it taking them nearly twenty years to find out what it was.

They didn't say what it was though.

"I could play "Stairway To Heaven" on the guitar when I was 14. Jimmy Page didnt write it until he was 28. I think that says a lot." says my mate Vim.

don't mention the blinds
Signal and Radio Stoke both seem to be stuck in the 70s and 80s and when listening to some of the phone-ins, so is their audience........
