What was happening this morning?

What was going on this morning by the church opposite the Island pub? There was a fire engine there and police and it looked like they had something in a net? It might have been a duck but would the police and fire service attend when a duck has been run over? The time was about 8.30/8.45 anyone know?

12 ducklings down the drain! Mum and Dad duck causing traffic chaos by flapping round the hole, passers by trying to rescue ducks/lings and causing more chaos, who you gonna call? ... Green Watch & gon2seed!

Removed grid cover, put ducklings in the net, carried net to river, mum followed squawking babies to the river, released ducklings, job done, everyone happy. Express & Star should have coverage tomorrow!

It was earlier, about 3pm the M6 was stationary from about 1 mile before Jn 13 all the way well past Jn 11. I thought there must have been an accident around the M54 or Walsall. Thought it would have cleared by now tho. I'm glad I cycle to work

When I came home tonight, the traffic was at a standstill outside Asda, and both ways up Corporation Street. Didn't seem to be moving too fast down Oxford Gardens, either...

it was chokablock at about 5 pm had to wait 50 minutes for a bus to wildwood!

Dumped my car at the bottom of Oxford Gardens, there was no way through.
Did an illegal manoeuvre through back of hospital, if the security cameras aren't working I should get away with it. Beats waiting to get onto the Weston Road.

OK I know it says Ian Salt, but Salty retired months ago, (silly fire station in joke) We have a had a Firefighter "Pablo Escobar" in one media source, and the ubiquitous Mike Hunt is always a favourite. We actually got a ticking off from HQ for using silly/inaccurate names but as you can see we are still at it! There is a small cash prize for anyone who can get a "Fire Fighter JP Rosenbaur" in a local paper! I won't bore you with an explanation!
