Ifit's for tea tonight ;) (If its in the fridge or freezer, we will be having it!)

This, but in a pasta bake. Anything tthat's been hanging around a while has now been fried up and is about to meet some pasta. I have another 8 bakes worth at least to freeze!

VERY naughty last night, ordered Chinese takeaway on a Monday night! Malaysian Sambal rice, crispy chicken in Peking sauce, crispy chicken in lemon and ginger, special mixed meat with Thai red curry and some tiny samosas, all from Kims Kitchen. Got Chilli cooking in the slowcooker as were having Chilli dogs tonight ;)

Hoping it'll be ready tonight, but I've just turned the slow cooker on too. I've lightly browned a few braising steaks, added some beef stock and red wine and threw it in the slow cooker with some veggies. I usually do braising steak on low for about 8 hours but I only have 5 really! So I put it on high to start off, just to get things to temp, then will reduce it. Will probably just end up with shoe leather but it will be well seasoned and tasty shoe leather!

I have a horrible cold so husband is in charge of tea. He has gone off to 'get something from Sainsburys', this means that we could end up with anything, but it will most likely be pizza :( I dont want pizza, I want some veg :( Sadly since we got married 7yrs ago he seems to of mysteriously lost the ability to cook that he lured me in with. Any tales of woeful cooking to cheer me up?

Not really cooking, but I once noticed that a plate was missing when I was washing up. Never mind, it'll turn up, I thought - might be in the garage or anywhere...

After eleven days, and still no plate, I began to get concerned - it was August - and so, I decided to sit down and trawl my memory.

Eventually, I realised that I had had a bunch of people round for a Sunday dinner and had no recollection of disposing of the remains of the chicken and had not used the oven since.

Carefully, I opened the oven door, to find that some helpful person had put it in there for safe keeping. All that was left was the bones, skin and a pint of writhing maggots....

Apologies to those having their tea at the moment..

When i were a stoodent one of my housemates decided to make a chili at 2 in the am, as pissed as a proverbial.

Once he had reached the simmer phase he promptly forgot he had started making a chili and left it to simmer for the next 8 or so hours.

The pan and it's carbonised contents then spent a happy year in the garden, where no amount of 'weathering' could make inroads into the crusted black mass. It may well still be there.

Chicken stew cooking in the slow cooker. Ive put too many leeks in and can only just get the lid on! Also it looks like far too much for 3 people, made enough for 5 as usual :)
