Tonights culinary offering is going to be from the Windmill chippy.
Hisnibs doesn't know yet, but to be honest, after the week I've had at work, and only having today off, I refuse to do much.

What the Americans call an english crumpet is nothing like a crumpet more of a mix of crumpet and muffin
As we all know, the real crumpet was invented by Tamanay Wilkinshaft, a master baker from Nuneaton

Indeed, the centenary of the event was commemorated on Round the Horne on April 11th, 1965 - resulting in the rare event of Mr Horne getting his knuckles rapped for the piece that he wrote about it.

Checking up on that has revealed the significance of 'Nuneaton', which had passed me by for 55years...

Mash, sausages and homemade red onion gravy!

Feel like I'm living on potatoes but it's good old fashioned comfort food!
It's not a secret, I LOVE mashed potato, call me Bodger. Its my go to food when I feel poorly, sad, in need of comfort, or just lovely food. It was my top craving when I was pregnant with eldest son (mashed potato, tinned plumb tomatoes & grated cheese).... nothing wrong wrong with mashed potato. :britain:
