I love my slow cooker, best kitchen gadget I've ever had. I generally start a chilli on a Monday to eat on the wednesday, but mine contain large portions of dead animals!

EDIT: I don't cook it for that long! I just do the steak one night, add the mince the next and then eat it the following day. I like my chilli to stand for a while before reheating as it seems to bring out the flavour.

Chilli - con the carne today - and rice. Inspired by tek-monkey.

Was going to buy some tortilla chips to eat with it but completely forgot - probably for the best.

I totally agree with Tek about making it one day and leaving it until the next to eat it.
Withnail - you can never have too many tortilla chips - especially with mozzarella, jalapenos and salsa!

We had a veg chilli too, Goldilox playing with our new slow cooker. Very impressed with it. (Mr. Wearn and the slow cooked chilli)

Im making Macaroni Cheese and garlic bread tonight but being as we are all carnivorous I will be adding Chorizo. Cant decide though, put it in the oven with a breadcrumb and cheese crust, or just as it comes?

Ooh, gotta have a crust!

I just picked up a nice looking cheese and chilli sauce from asda, gonna use it on some canneloni filled with an odd chilli con carne/reggae reggae pasta sauce concoction I made recently. That certainly needs a crust, was thinking a layer of gouda with a thin layer of cheese sauce on top then cajun breadcrumbs. I am hungry now!

How do I edit this?

Which may be what started the conversation on slow cookers in the first place:
Wormella has just bought a slow cooker and I fancied a play with it so tonight it's a vegetable chilli with tortillas. I can smell it simmering away as I type this :)

Chinese tonight ... won't have time to cook!
Always difficult to decide what to have from the take-away ... Chinese food not the same as I am used to, having lived in Hong Kong for a few years!
