What's rockin your musical world???

Hmm love this thread .. seems that there is a huge amount of diverse and interesting musical tastes about some great suggestions too ( yes I'm a saddo who generally tries to listen to all the peeps suggestions ) not that I give a tinkers cuss what people think about that . Lets face it music makes the world go round and the beer makes it go round just that little bit faster depending on how much you have had .

with this in mind i have been aurally intoxicating myself to death with Polly Jane this week as in PJ Harvey digging out the old stuff circa '90 -93 still amazin . Having done so went a bit further back and got back into the sugar cubes, husker du , belly, Throwing muses, and seem to finish the week off with Jesus and Mary Chain ,Janes Addiction and er.. Richard Thompson and James Taylor !

sbin a funny old week ! a sort of "90s" one with some melancholy thrown in for good measure really ..not that I'm feeling in a melancholic frame of mind but it helps to get the work done . Speaking of all things depressing and viewing CG post I wonder where my copy of Berlin has decided to hide itself for the last 10 yrs since I played it ? must dig it out ! Transformer is too cheery..lol

what with working in a photographic studio we can put whatever we want on at a reasonable volume. one of the girls (this isnt a thinly veiled attempt to pass the buck) has been playing amy winehouse's frank album. good lord its really growing on me. so much in fact that its been hummed, whistled, and downright sung in the shower.

we play pantera when a child comes in for 'non accidental injury' photographs :slayer:

For what it's worth:

Devendra Banhart - Smokey Rolls Down Thunder Canyon
Animal Collective - Strawberry Jam
Moodymann - Forevernevermore
Acid Mothers Temple - Crystal Rainbow Pyramid Under the Stars
Taint - Secrets and Lies
Today is the Day - Axis of Eden
Maximo Park - Our Earthly Pleasures

Not really a Winehouse fan tbh but the misses has it on from time to time. Not as bad as I thought it'd be tbh. Same goes for that Mark Ronson record which I was avoiding for a fair while.

I'm an awkward git when it comes to music. Banhart, Animal Collective and Moodymann are essential listens at the moment. Latter is a genius IMO, really good deep/dark house music.

I missed out on tickets Miss T however one of the lads I go to Utd with has a little contact at Piccadilly Records. His brother works there. We'll see how it goes. Would be a good do tbh, my birthday as well.
