Prospect Rd is the best, tho that's nowt to be shout about cos none fair to what I get in Barmouth or other seaside resorts. Sandon Rd is pants, anemic at best.

don't mention the blinds
Barmouth, do you mean the one just before the tight bend as you enter the sea front?.....

Seniors Fish Bar in Blackpool is probably the nicest one i've ever eaten at. It's actually closer to Poulton otherwise it'd probably be as rank as every other chippy in Blackpool is. Their butterfish is amazing - though you pay well for it.

In Stafford i've only ever tried Highfields though next time i'll see what i think of Chris after reading this :)

Hur hur :P

I'm back there for a bit every couple of weeks, I grew up just down the road from the chippy and my parents are still there. Sure as hell beats a services special on the way home!

*Edit* Random but just noticed I signed up a year ago today. Don't you all feel better now you know that *nod*

Hmm...it wasn't even worth that tbh. I noticed after I'd posted that you'd said "eaten at" and that my 'joke' was very much not one, but by that point I couldn't be arsed to delete it! Very similar to the majority of my posts tbh.

I think it's 'chippy' not 'chippie' too! Never seen a chippy called chippie, and I've eaten a lot of chips...just to check.

Got a leaflet through the door from 'Stafford Chippy' the other day telling me they can deliver pie and chips and battered sausages and fishcakes etc to my front door! Very dangerous knowledge...

Oh good lord, fish and chips delivery? Final nail in my waistlines coffin there!!

I remember we had a discussion on a car forum years ago on whether it should be called a battered sausage or a sausage in batter. The ensuing argument lasted over a year and a half....lol. In the poll the battered sausage won hands down

It's got to be chippy, a chippie to me is a carpenter. But then I'm odd...

However here in stafford we do not have access to what iI would call a proper chippy. For these i have been known to sign myself up for a day out at Ikea with the missus just so i can visit a "proper Chippy".

Praise the lord for the "yellow chip" mmmmmmm!

My all time fave was Middletons, Church Street, Darlaston. (no link found!)
I know Middletons but there is even a better one in Franchise Street right behind Ikea. Its called Carols and they batter the chips!!!

Its been taken over I know the one my granpys used to live on school street. That was the one my grandad used to use, my uncle preferred Middletons when he went to get tea.

20 years ago Carols indeed was the best, nowadays I think Middletons.

Somethings should never change.

It has been a couple of years since my last visit, maybe I need some flat pack furniture "mmmmm!"

When was yours???

Grocott's in Eastgate Street had a good reputation..
Pitcher Bank - Great name for a place next a row of pubs. Izaak would have been proud

Didnt he have a frozen food store on the A34 that became a nightclub that became an American fast food joint - three decades summed up in one premises...

I used to get chips after school in newport from Jones's chippy quite often, I highly recommend him too!
