Car and Rally on Browning Street. Professional, reasonably priced, and not inclined to list a whole load of stuff that doesn't actually need doing.

Damn I hate repeating myself....

"Find a council MOT place, they don't do repairs so no incentive to fail you...."

In Ireland all vehicle testing is done by a state franchise - in test centres that do no other work than the testing itself...

Mine's booked into FMS for tomorrow after reading this thread - never had to MOT a car in Stafford before so here's hoping it's all good!

Thank god for threads like this though, i'd have been clueless (more so than normal) otherwise :)

It really does have to be said, for this reason and more, stafford forum rocks. :slayer:

Enjoying a drop of red.
Used to get mine done at the bus depot in Cannock, but don't know if they still do them.

I use FMS for most things now, can't fault them.

Get my citreon done at Soveriegn, near the tip, opposite the Amasal. Bought it from their, and Paul & his lads have always done it since I bought it off them! I used to go to school with Paul Skellern, the owner; he used to work at Harvey's, opposite the Rangers, and when I had my accident, Soveriegn were great to my wife, picking the car up, when it needed sorting. 11 out 10, and don't rip me off!

If you have a citreon, or really any car, you could do a lot worse! (01785) 242880

Any hints where? :P
From Money Saving Expert

Many local councils have their own MOT testing stations for council vehicles like buses or ambulances. By law these test centres (though not taxi or Crown stations) must be open to the general public, and as they only carry out tests and don't do repairs, there's no incentive for mechanics to find faults that don't exist.

Centres we have visited tell us that this guide had seen a four fold increase in members of he public visiting. Better still, he said they were grateful as it secured their jobs in times of council cuts... good news as it means you're seen as a welcome customer not an annoying distraction.
It lists ones as being on beacon business park, weston road and then points to an indeterminate place on astonfields with no real details available.

See if you can make any progress from the link.
