Where's nice for breakfast?

Somewhere they do good quality bacon and sausage, nice bread, maybe bubble and squeak and a decent mug of tea. Any favourite spots? Have tried The Soup Kitchen a few times and can't decide. Stafford motorway services: better than nothing but doesn't make you want to see another day, really. That garden centre outside Newport: ever so friendly but a bit strange eating in a big greenhouse. And the beans were cold. IKEA down the road: nasty. The mood doesn't strike often, but it'd be nice to have a reliable place to go to for the occasional Full English.

The Post House is very nice for breakfast, my friend and I have been there more then once - Food4Thought remains a solid contender, as does 'spoons although next time we venture out it will be to Bean Encounter as I spy they have American Style Biscuits & Gravy =D

I'll be popping into Viccy Oatcakes this morning. Two bacon & cheese with red sauce. Nom Nom.

The Bean Encounters biscuits and gravy are superb, if you want to stray from a full english that would be my only recommendation.

In the US MacDonald's serve biscuits. Same shape as scones for the uninitiated.

American gravy is not what we know as gravy!

Hopefully when people order it they will know that and have seen D,D and Dives.

I must try them when in town.

Many thanks to all. Going to check out Bean Encounter, F4F, Great Haywood...

Gramaisc, it was looking at this chap's website that led to musing on Stafford + surrounds breakfast venues. Were it not for the fact that he's over in East Anglia most of the time and it's a bit far to go unless you get up at crack of dawn...

Gave myself a bit of a fright looking at the Wetherspoons site, where they give calorific content of their dishes. Having a FEB would practically mean nothing but two carrots, an apple and a cup of hot water for the rest of the day. Damn.

Would drone on further about breakfasts, but have just noticed a large snail climbing up bedroom window, 20 feet off the ground, and feel it needs guidance

Snail trails on Sandon church - all the way to the top of the tower, in fact, if you stand in the right light.

At 20 feet, he's probably just on a training run..

Yeah, I really wish they wouldn't do that. Frankie & Bennie's is dependable for breakfasts too

The Bap Shop in town does a decent Breakfast bap if you're after something cheap and quick. Hit's the spot when you need a break from that early morning shop! ;)
