They have predicted lightning for the last two Fridays - the first time, I moved a job which involved running about with aluminium poles outside, just in case - I didn't bother making any rearrangements last week.

I wonder if it will be third time 'lucky'?

A school friend once told me he liked to fish during thunder storms. He used to put the rod down once he heard the thunder as to avoid being struck by lightning. :master: You could just do that.

I'm not sure if he is still alive

No, it wasn't.

Big rain in Ireland this afternoon, mostly in the north-east - 70mm in 3 hours.
