Windows XP needed.

Wonder if anyone can help?

I'm in need of a Windows XP disc and legit key to install to either dual boot or virtual box on my Mac. Has anyone got a copy that has been deactivated?

I found out an old one - may even be an original pre service pack with a genuine key but it won't activate.

If it wont activate, use the "ACTIVATE BY TELEPHONE OPTION". If it says on how many computers is it installed press for option 1, then it might ask if you've had to change hardware so press the option for yes. If the automated service should put you through to someone, you simply say you've had to swap out some hardware and confirm the key isonly being used on one machine, and they'll give you the activation key to type in.
I do this all of the time and to be honest i've only ever ONCE had to physically speak to someone. Usually the automated service takes care of it all for you.

I remember doing the telephone activation but didn't manage to get anywhere - this was a few months back now though. Will definitely give it another go though cheers!

Alot of people hear that they are being put through to speak to a Microsoft representative - panic - and then hang up! Just incase this is what happened (or happens next time) they're just people there to help. Just tell them you're re-installing as you've upgraded loads of hardware and they'll sort you - just be sure the key isn't still in use on another machine.

I did this once i told them i was flashing my bios and the power went out killing my mobo so i had to replace it, they gave me a key to activate windows again.
