Wine - Where you buy?

After having several poor bottles of late I'm wondering which merchant Forum types use

Whitebridge?

Old School Tit?

A man in a van?

Tanners?

Lidl.

I bought some South African stuff in there once - because I fancied a bottle and it was the cheapest. It was also the nicest wine I've ever had - I went back and bought the whole stock.

Well worth risking the odd one and seeing what happens.

Enjoying a drop of red.
Aldi for everyday wine. As well as the Malbec mentioned by @Lucy there's also a very nice Italian Rosso for only £3.29!!!

Mid range wine normally from Waitrose depending on what offers they have at any given time.

The best stuff involves a trip to southern France.

And the Aldi Toro Loco, cheap and reliable. Lidl occasionally has a bostin' Brunello about £14.

I use to go to tanners or order it from the Times, but nowadays I find there is some everyday decent stuff in Lidl or Aldi, anything for a special occasion I go to Waitrose or Majestic wines in Uttoxeter, but as @Gramaisc said Lidl or Aldi, try a few and see how you get on.

I have tried Virgin, Laithwaites and more recently Giordano. These are good for the first case and you might even regard them as being bargains but any benefit disappears from the second case onwards when prices revert to their norm.
Recently ASDA had some MacGuigans Classic Merlot at 6 bottles for £30 so I stocked up with a couple of cases of that. Unfortunately it appears to be evaporating rather rapidly so I will have to visit Sainsbury/Tesco while their offers are in place. Thanks for the heads up on those.

Sainsburys, 25% off when you buy 6 bottles untill 6th June...

;)

Some branches of Sainsbury's will give you this discount even when it isn't advertised if you ask for the Store Manager nicely.

It also helps if you've got the bottles in your trolley and tell them you don't want them if there's no discount and you start putting the bottles back :)

Years ago when 'booze cruising' across the channel was popular if we found a wine we particularly liked we used to soak the label off and keep it for reference.
