Consecutive Saturdays, tough away games for Stafford Rangers, against teams comfortably in the upper eschalons of the Evo-Stik Premire League. Result 6 points! :bananafunk:

1 goal defeats of FC United, and Marine leaves Boro' on 35 points, and within smelling distance of safety, with 15 ganes left! Players coming back, a new young striker, not unrealistic to tink they might push on to the league Playoffs. I have always said this season its about building a solid base to push on next season, and I think that that is the most realsitic thing to hope for this year; but never, say never! :slayer:

The highlight of Boro's win in Liverpool was meeting up with the Seedlings. Seniour is at John Moors, and Middle Seed was stopping with him for the weekend. Seniour dragged four pals along so great fun was had by all!

It was a good match to be sure.

Talking of wonders, i wonders why Peter Heler weren't man of the match?

Well the votes on the forum were split across the team. Sheldon's been outstanding the last two games and deserved his goal. Street has an immense presence at our level and Thompson is our leading scorer and his 2 goals made it 3 in 2 games. Morris was fantastic for 45 but left at half time to be at the birth of his daughter, Stevenson replaced him and ran them ragged. Heler is a consistent workhorse who works the line and is always appreciated by fans and players alike - if only he had more of an end result like the goal at FC United.

That would explain his substitution then!

Not knowing that, his lack of appearance for the second half was a bit of a WTF moment - the best of the goals i thought, TENACITY and poise - we do like that.

Stevenson was indeed a worthy replacement and a goal was just desserts.

Street would also have been deserving of motm, Heler edges it just for being on the pitch for longer :) The pair of them putting that amount of effort in was most encouraging.

My only gripe would be that, Street and Heler aside, there wasn't enough movement (apart from on the break) - players waiting for the ball to reach them rather than attacking it.

Keeper and Captain also worthy of mention.

We've dropped into a league where playing very well in spells will more than get you by. As we settle and move on I think we could be looking at sound foundations for next season. Most of us wanted stability and thats coming now. A challenge to the play off spots will be a boost for confidence even if we dont make it. We're now close to the 40 point target so we can move on from there hopefully.

It certainly got us more than by on Saturday :)

One thing i would say, and i fully appreciate the point you make, is that the team are more than capable of playing passing football - if god had wanted football to be played in the air he'd have put grass in the sky etc - a bit less of the long ball wouldn't go amiss.

Those boys can play - they should keep it on the floor more - that's your stability right there.

True and the two things that Doz & Greg shout the most is "keep the ball" & "pass the ball".............its all about what you do when you've got it, otherwise you're chasing it.

Will the Boro' crazyness never cease? Chris Morris scored the first goal on Sat', then rushed off at half-time, after having received a phone call telling him his wife had gone into labour expecting their first sprog! Chris has become a father to a beautiful baby girl. Mum & baby said to be doing well. Boro' won 5.1, and Midlands Today are including a piece on it tomorrow! It never rains but it poors!

The child's auntie was behind the bar in the Greyhound tonight - there was also an appearance by a well-lagered simian Forumite, although under heavy supervision..
