Zumba in Stafford

Beaconside does one 7pm on a Wednesday. It's pretty busy though and is on a first come get in basis (apart from people who have been going for over a year and have a loyalty card I believe). Wormella will know more - I haven't been since the new entry rules came in.

There is also one in Penkridge run by the same girl on a Saturday, not sure how busy that one gets... or where it is held...

They do it at Esporta as well, I don't think you have to be a member, I've also seen the posters up in Gnosall saying it's just starting there - at the Village Hall I think

Suddenly there is this Zumba craze. My question is where have all the Zumba dance teachers come from?

Indeed I have been going to the Zumba class long enough to get a membership card (in fact, I'v never seen anyone turned away but class sizes were limited to 70 for health and safety reasons)

Emily does classes:
Penkridge (monday) : the Monckton Recreation Centre
Great Wyrley (tuesday) : St Thomas More Catholic Primary School
Stafford (Wednesday): Beaconside Sports Centre

I think Riverside & Dragonfly dance school do classes too - but I'm not sure when they are etc..

It is great fun, and its the only thing I've stuck at for a year...

Sorry for the thread necromancy but I thought I'd give some updates on a few new classes that have sprung up.

The Wednesday Beaconside one I go to (See above 7-8 - £4) is still jolly busy, new people turning up all the time etc.

I've also spotted a few others that I've tried to supplement the Wednesday one.

There's a woman who's doing 2 (one at Rangers same time at the one above) and the other at Oddfellows hall on the high street - Thursday 5:30 - 6:30 (£4) - Went to this yesterday - I was disappointed by the lack of latin music in the mix, one of the reasons I like Zumba - it was lots of more aeroibicy / dancy moves set to pop hits - ok in moderation but the room was hot, even with only 20 in it and I felt it wasn't quite for me. I'm not sure I'll be back to that one.

The other one I've tried is the Zumba @ Couture - Thursday 7-8 (£5 - but I've had a free bottle of water last few times I've been) - this is great fun, playing up the latin party aspect - disco ball, nightclub lights etc - and air con - which is very lovely. If you've played the Zumba fitness game this will be very familiar, but it feels a much more targeted work out then then other two -so I'm sticking with this one as long as I can.

I know there's loads in Stafford - has anyone been to any of the other classes?

Not sure if this is classed as spam but thought it may help those of you that are looking for a zumba class. There are new classes at Acton Trussell Village Hall. Monday 6.45pm - 7.45pm, Tuesday 9.30 - 10.30 am, Thursday 9.30am - 10.30am and Thursday 7pm -'8pm - you won't be disappointed!

Yes, that's by the same lady I mentioned, which was less latin then I'd have liked. Something odd is going on with the Couture one too - last week I went and there was no sign of it being open etc. and no mention on Facebook or the website about it being cancelled - but I noticed somewhere it said 'starting in september' . :mystery:

Hi - I know it was a while ago you were looking for a class but we teach across Stafford and thought you might want to pop along if the day and time suites you. Wednesday at Stafford rangers - 7pm or Thursday at Oddfellows on Greengate St - 5.30pm. Come and have a wiggle and a giggle.
we also teach Zumbatomic for children!
