ok, i have read a few reviews for other places in stafford, i see there is a lot of opinions with out mentioning any pub, club, resturant name i would like to know what you think is best, class or comfort?? would you like to go to a new hip trenty bar thats is maybe bit pricey or a good old british pub with real ales/ciders and good fair priced food??

The second one.

Oh, and I don't want to sound snotty or anything, but isn't this the kind of question you should ask before you're a week away from opening your bar?

I am with ATJ. I want comfort. Too many places try to be something "trendy" and when they fail they fail hard, plus that's just not my scene any more. Leave trendy to the existing places already failing at it. lol

Oh and G knows I don't mind people knowing who I am. I don't have any enemies I know of in Stafford or anything, so not worried about anonymity particularly, beyond the basic safety sort. ;) Last time we went to P&A my hair was probably greeny blue. lol

Comfort and a good pub please. Doesn't have to be cheap, just reasonable :) Good ales and ciders, freindly atmosphere and a comfy seat is all i could ever ask.

Prices need to be reasonable, I would say between £2.50 to £3 a pint such as in the Sun and the Rose & Crown which i would choose every time over the Wetherspoons pubs as they have a better ambience.

i read a really interesting article once in the british baker magazine about what people want from a cafe (probly not the same as a pub or restaurant but it was interesting) apparently above price, comfort , customer service and quality of food, what people look for the most is... free wifi. weird or what! so stafford ale house, have you got wifi there? in case any hip cool kids with their laptops want in on the action? x

Excellent! That's exactly the sort of thing Stafford Forum is for. Too many local businesses come here, post an advert, and then we never see them again. Our users (affectionately known as Forumites) hate that, so you have done exactly the right thing here. :D

Indeed. Local businesses are only now starting to realise the importance of places like Stafford Forum, the free market research and feedback they can get, the level of customer interaction, etc.

I'd say you're definitely headed down a successful path, top totty! :D

Speaking of upstairs, the only time we ever went upstairs in the P&A was when it was too full once downstairs. A great open space but was never sure how often it was used. The problem we found with it was that it was too quiet and felt under used. If you can do something to make it feel a bit less dead up there it could be good. Nice comfy sofas last time we were there. :)
