Probably better to advertise them as 'generous bacon baps'..?Hey forumites, just to remind you this is running right now, please pop in and visit if you have a moment. I make a mean bacon bap!
Not the best chat-up line..my bacon isn't wrapped around chicken stuffed with something, still interested?

This is a council ruling. The area is a alcohol exclusion zone. I'm not sure why you would want to encourage smoking outside this place.. I think it is revolting having to shuffle through a thick fugg of smoke to get into some pubs and in any event they have an fabulous garden area at the back with a covered area with heaters. What is the issue??There are ashtrays on the outside tables at the Stafford Ale House, I believe* - and, back in the Pie and Ale House days, there was a good bit of al fresco alcohol imbibing, particularly on the evenings of the open-air concerts..

You are right to be unsure about why I might want to encourage smoking anywhere, not merely outside pubs. I am unaware of a single occasion when I have encouraged smoking anywhere. This is a council ruling. The area is a alcohol exclusion zone. Yes, it's next to the La La Land Pizza Parlour and the Refus-Hasn't-Got-A-Bleedin'-Clue Paddling Pool.Does the Stafford Ale House really have a fabulous, heated garden area at the rear?

There is a small area out the back with some bins in - I had a look out of the upstairs back window once..If they do they don't advertise it well at all - I may have to pop in and take a look
But if you set light to one of the bins then it becomes a cosy haven in which to enjoy a pint on an autumn's eve. There is a small area out the back with some bins in - I had a look out of the upstairs back window once..

I agree with you.
Why does their market fall foul of ancient rules but the farmers market in Market square is perfectly ok?
If only it said 'Bob'...
