Facebook sidebar missing due to resizing, trying to get rid of adverts

Does anyone know how I can restore my facebook page. I tried to get rid of the 'ads' in the left hand column with the sliding scale icon that pops up but it seems I took the scale too far and the whole page disappeared! Now when I log in I can only see what appears to be the bottom of the page and therefore cannot access anything. I have tried the Help centre several times but with no reply. I feel like I have lost my best friend and would really appreciate any help please.

I'm not sure what you mean, as I don't have the 'sliding scale icon' that you refer to, but it may be that you have simply zoomed in/out too far in your browser!

Try pressing CTRL on your keyboard at the same time as 0 (zero) on your keypad to see if that resets it. If not, look in your various menus along the top (the 'View' menu, for example) to see if there are any 'Zoom' options, and reset them to zero.

Good luck!

Yes, Admin has got it, I have zoomed out too far for my page but how do I reverse this action. The sliding scale appears if you right click on the words 'ads for this page' (or something similar). I had got rid of a list by using this method, but then I went too far to the right and the page disappeared. If it was that easy to lose surely it must be easy to restore. I have tried using the CTRL and zero as suggested but this has not worked. Please do not give up on me, HELP!!!!!!!

Hello again,
Could you possibly place your cursor at the bottom of your left hand column on your facebook page, right click and see the sliding scale that appears. This is the scale that caused my page to disappear, at first I took the slider to the right just a small way which did get rid of some unwanted material, but then I went too far to the right which took me to the very bottom of the page with no way of getting back into the main body of the page, therefore blocking any further access. I really am frustrated by this but do think that anyone that is clever on computers would be able to tell me how to reverse this procedure. I look forward to your help, thanks

I have tried the above, but can't find the 'sliding scale' that you refer to, I'm afraid. Click the following for a screenshot I have just taken of what happens when I right-click:

I have tried in Firefox and Chrome; neither has any kind of slider. I am quite a prolific computer user, and I can never recall ever seeing any such slider either, so I wonder if it is a plug-in that you have that is adding this functionality. Do you have any 'Internet Security' software installed, or any other 'Internet helpers' (e.g. McAfee, Symantec, etc.)?
