Has it still got a darts board? I was in there 30 yrs ago playing darts with mates, in came some paraletic tofs & challenged us to a game. they were crap and we fleesed 'em for a few quid, and they kept asking us to play for serious wonga, we though they were sharks holding out for bets so declined, looking back I am pretty sure they were just rich & Brame's So reckon we missed an opportunity! Don't know which year it was, 80 somat, but everywhere was snowed in, and the pub stayed open till the bear & food ran out! Was a few days!:pint: :sing:

Went here yesterday with the OH, having worked there some years ago I was keen to see the changes that had been made, and to sample the ales!!

I was not disappointed the whole place has been revitalised and brought in to the 21st century without it losing its old charm and atmosphere. I was pleased to see the place was busy with many of the tables reserved, however we managed to find a table and eat. The food was delicious, a real rump steak burger with homemade chips, went down a treat especially with a pint of Titanic White Star!! The service was quick and the staff polite and friendly. I will definitely be visiting again and passing the word on about this hidden gem in Seighford.

The dart board is no more

But I also did not detect any toffs neeva - which is nice

Oops!

Anyone watching BBC 1 last night will have realised that the dartboard remains

Bad arrows on my behalf

They must have some crazy device for hiding it away or I need a new monacle

The pub has a very pleasant and attractive young girl front of house , which makes supping the guest ales all the more pleasing.

But don't sit too close to the real fire - toasted buttocks may ensue

Calling in for a swifty en route home tonight, will report back on toastiness of buttocks tomorrow.

Called in last night. Nice and warm, keen prices, fair few people in, looked like some form of group meeting going on up the fireplace corner, (warmer than the village hall and beer to boot) but still seemed to lack any atmosphere. Would call in if passing but wouldn't make a purpose journey. Bar staff seemed very much like you tend to find in large town pubs (or supermarkets) transaction completed quickly, efficiently, next please.

Yet to truly find its own identity I guess, but it is January and I have still to find a busy bar West of Berlin

Identity, good call. Nothing really wrong with the place, just that 'something' missing, a feeling of being processed rather than served not often found in village pubs. Still wish them well in these difficult times.

I see they're doing something for Burns Night. Haggis isn't really my cup of tea so won't be queing up for this one, I still haven't been back since the opening night which I really should considering it's my local and the only pub within walking distance - I guess it's what having kids does to you.

Must be doing something right - a full house again today meant
beans on toast again, I must phone to book earlier in the week .
And sadly the lovely girl front of house is apparently no longer working there

One spaniel and I called in today, mid-way through a long walk. Dogs are welcome in the bar. Decent menu, decently busy for a lunchtime and friendly staff. Even some free dog-training thrown in by the manager. Why don't more pubs offer that?

It tends to be more a domain of nightclubs

Went back today, the last time we went was when Zena ran it. I have to say it was brilliant, food was great, prices great and it was really nice to see it open.

Worth a visit if anyones hungry, we will be going back!

Good to hear

The 'eye candy' has moved on sadly but I guess all thing must pass

The Bell at Haughton would appear to be doing something right that the Holly Bush at Seighford cannot if a quick count of the car parks is anything to go by these days
