When did we sink so low as a society that the most vulnerable are not worthy of help because of the expense.

It's been going on for a while...

I get what your saying but unborn, newborn & sick children have no voice and need the nurture and care of the society around them. It's about a civilised society that values it's future - without this we crumble.

Boyle Roche, an acquaintance of our own MP, Richard Sheridan, once said (jokingly, I suspect) "Why we should put ourselves out of our way to do anything for posterity, for what has posterity ever done for us?"

Dismantling 'society' has been going on for some decades...

But its even worse than that.
These decisions/recommendations are being made by a group of people who are using theoretical models as their guide and have failed totally to understand the local need, have failed to even visit the wards, have no understanding on the future demographic growth of the town and its community and to make matters worse present a stupid video to justify their position.

This lot (Alan Bloom and Professor Hugo Mascie-Taylor) don't give a toss about Stafford or the community, are working towards an outcome that has already been decided and are going to be responsible for a great number of fatalities.

That is pretty much their mission statement - and they are arrogant enough to not even bother to try to hide it.

And, to cap it all, they will be (criminally) well rewarded for delivering this charade to their political masters bidding.

It's a shame that their names won't pass into the language quite as well as Boycott and Beeching.

You never know it all depends on how many innocent people they condemn to death.

Has anybody questioned if what these morons are proposing is legal?

With all this 'trust status' malarkey, they effectively own the hospital that we paid for. Whatever they, and their puppeteers, say is what will happen - and they will make it 'legal', if they really have to.

Anybody else going on Wednesday?
I hope to make this one after missing the previous meeting, although I too think there is little consulting going on, more informing us of what they have planned.
I read on the support Stafford hospital page that Bloom was heard to say that the recommendations are "non negotiable." It was also observed that questions put in written form for the panel were sorted through by the TSA staff prior to being either read out or put to one side. I wonder what their intentions are for the questions that weren't read out?
Cherry picking the questions and no feed back from the ones kept doesn't feel like consultation, neither does the knowledge that they failed to engage in any fact finding discussion to gather the accurate figures from the heads of department that the recommendations name as closing.

I believe there is already a fundraising team collecting for legal representation.

I counted 317 pensioners walk by the Rose looking determined..
I was inside today, sitting just below the divide and there was a sea of almost unbroken grey in front of me . A fair scattering of younger folk behind me in the Gods, though.

For anybody unable to attend the proceedings were being recorded and will be available on t'interweb on Thursday. It will be interesting to see if they pick up all the barracking and chuntering!

A fund raising team collecting for legal representation?

1 In any other town you might expect some legal types to volunteer their services given that lawyers have babies etc etc

2 However, given the standard of the Stafford legal profession I am relieved they have not

3 I do hope expertise is found, and quickly
